Diego: Works
I was born in Bogotá, Colombia in 1990. At age of fourteen I began attending to local punk shows, where I had my first encounter with tattoos. This keeps growing thanks to the music until im 18 years old, after finishing my studies, I decided to start tattooing.
Music and drawing has been always an important pillar in my life, both converging in tattooing and giving meaning to my life. It gave me a purpose
I started as an apprentice at Dr. Calavera tattoo under the wings of Carlos Rodriguez “El Calvo”, who guide me on my first steps in tattooing. I continued my learning with Andres Niño “El Español” at his studio. He welcomed me as family and taught me more about the tattoo world. Here is where my curiosity and respect for traditional Japanese tattoos was born. After finishing my apprenticeship I come back with Carlos Rodriguez, at his privet studio where I worked professionally until 2014 when I decide to move to Madrid and study illustration so I can take my work to a new level.
Arriving to Madrid I started working in several tattoo studios, my first steps took me to Criminals Tattoo Madriz after a period of time I decided to move on and start working along with my friend Keik Balcazar at his studio simultaneously at Tonga Leganes.
I met Jee in person getting tattooed by him after a year in Madrid, as I followed his work for years. As I was finishing my studies, started becoming a member of Humanfly’s family and today I work with them proudly
