Tatpooh Shokunin Figure

Tatpooh Shokunin (彫物 プーさん · 職人) is the final edition of Tatpooh, the tattoo Pooh art toy created by Madrid tattoo artist Jee Sayalero. The 23 cm vinyl figure wears a full irezumi bodysuit in a satin finish: a golden dragon, maple leaves and wind bars drawn from Jee's Japanese tattoo work.

The hachimaki

This edition adds the hachimaki (鉢巻), the headband worn by Japanese artisans, chefs, warriors and tattoo artists as a sign of focus and perseverance. Each one is made of organic cotton, measures 38 x 9 cm and is tied by hand.

What shokunin means

A shokunin (職人) is a craftsman who spends a lifetime chasing mastery through discipline. Tatpooh Shokunin pays tribute to that idea and to the tattoo artists who carry it: small, but tireless.

About Tatpooh

Tatpooh represents the rite of passage from childhood to adulthood: a figure from the stories we grew up with, now covered in the full-body tattoos that, in Japanese tradition, stand for endurance, loyalty and transformation. It is part of the Take Me Back to Me series, alongside Tatpigg and Aka Panda.
